| Bethel Roads Diary |
| Mr. Dutton has been researching Bethel's rights-of-passage since the 1950's and Victoria Weber, along with Mary Pavone, worked as volunteer scribes to gather the information onto data forms for each road. The result is a 20 page "Bethel Roads Diary" that answers questions like What is the correct name for what we call Gilead Brook?, Why is Christian Hill not a hill?, and Why is the eastern boundary of Bethel not parallel to the western boundary? That education is the key to working through the Unidentified Corridors / Ancient Roads legislation (Act 178). The issue has many sides which need to be balanced. |

| Rock of Ages Seeks New Permit |
| Rock of Ages Seeks New Permit To Crush Rock at Bethel Quarry By Chris Costanzo In a move that may generate local controversy, Rock of Ages is seeking the town’s approval to run up to 60 truckloads a day out of its Bethel White quarry from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. six days a week. Rock of Ages’ current permit allows for 20 truckloads a day, from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m., five days a week, with a minimum spacing of 20 minutes between trucks. Rock of Ages’ request is for an amendment to its existing subdivision permit that allows the company to use a crusher to process waste granite at its Bethel White quarry off of Christian Hill Road. The new and higher limit in truck traffic is included in the proposed conditions related to the request. | Bethel Town Hall Roof Will Be Fixed |
| By Chris Costanzo The big surprise at Bethel's town meeting was a pledge from Charlene Bostrom that she and her husband Ken would make up any shortfall between money available in the town hall fund and the cost of replacing the roof of the building. Amy Bergamo, chair of the town hall finance committee, had reported that the town hall fund currently has $86,694.79, including recent private donations of about $20,000. Bergamo noted that the additional $25,000 would place the town close to the $124,000 estimate to replace the town hall roof.
